Cutera XEO Q & A

What is the Cutera XEO?

The XEO device is a highly advanced tool for laser hair removal from Cutera, the pioneers in laser hair removal. The XEO system uses focused laser light to permanently damage the target hair follicles. This inhibits future growth for a very long time, typically for years.

The Cutera XEO device is also known as a multi-functional workhorse that can be used for laser skin treatments. The XEO can remove age spots, vascular lesions, and sun damage that are causing the skin to look old.

What type of skin can the Cutera XEO laser treat?

The Cutera XEO laser system can be used on any type of skin. Other lasers may be unable to treat some types of skin, but the XEO can even be used on tanned skin.

Can Cutera XEO laser hair removal be used on all hair colors?

Unlike most other laser hair removal systems, Cutera XEO laser hair removal can be used on almost any shade of hair. However, light blonde hair is more challenging to treat effectively and may require more treatment sessions.

What parts of the body can be treated with XEO laser hair removal?

Nearly any part of the body can be treated, including:

  • The upper lip
  • The chin
  • The bikini line
  • The lower arms
  • The lower legs
  • The underarm area

If you have problem hair growth in a different area, please contact Anderson Obstetrics & Gynecology to ask about it -- in most cases, we can help with hair growth in any part of the body.

How many laser hair removal sessions are needed?

Most patients need to have between four and six laser hair removal treatments. These treatments are planned four to six weeks apart to allow for the next cycle of hair to appear before the next treatment session.

What type of precautions should you take after XEO treatment?

After XEO laser treatment, you can expect the treatment area to be reddened, and it may appear bumpy. This is normal, and will typically resolve in just a day or so. It's best to avoid sun exposure and excessive heat exposure such as saunas for around 48 hours after treatment. The Anderson Obstetrics & Gynecology team may also recommend a soothing lotion for the treatment area.
